About

Cruiser, Racer and Grand Prix

Each of Seatrack's three software options is designed to meet the particular navigational requirements for cruising under sail or power, for club racing onshore and offshore and, at the top of the range, for racing in its most competitive form.

cruiser, racer and Grand Prix Global Navigation Software

Seatrack Cruiser

The right product for the navigator who needs a comprehensive chart plotting system without requiring boat performance data.

Seatrack Cruiser includes full tidal calculations with the ability to use its own proprietary tidal information or the tidal data held within C-Map charts.

Routes can be created by marking waypoints and the final destination directly onto the electronic chart or from a waypoint library. Passage plans can be optimised by, for example, entering proposed time of departure and assumed boat speed.

Seatrack Racer

Combines all the navigational features of Seatrack Cruiser with extensive performance data acquisition and manipulation features.

The performance management functions provide a race-winning competitive advantage.

Target speeds and angles are generated by reference to the yacht's polars, which are themselves created and updated by the Seatrack system. Inclusion of boat's polars, wind direction and wind speed enable detailed tactical planning for each leg of a race.

Seatrack Grand Prix

The ultimate tool for the racing navigator, with all the navigation and performance features of Seatrack Cruiser and Racer, together with dynamic instrument calibration, handicap and start line features as well as trend plotting.

The importance of instrument calibration cannot be under-estimated. Seatrack Grand Prix provides unique facilities to eradicate the inherent errors in most instruments' wind data calculations.

Grand Prix's Start Line, Handicap Calculator and Trend Monitor features are unique to Seatrack, providing the navigator / tactician critical advantages over other competitors.

For the principal features of each version go to Software.

Ease of Use and Versatility

Bearing in mind that the system mainly will be operated at sea, often in bad weather and when time is of the essence, the highest priority has been given to ease of use and versatility.

Navigators can run Seatrack both at fixed PCs or laptops at the chart table, or choose more portable options such as tablet PCs or wireless screens. The system can even transmit information to pocket-sized PDAs.

Of particular value when racing, the software manipulates data in a multitude of ways, displaying 'virtual instruments' and giving a host of performance indicators and projections that enable the navigator / tactician to make an informed decision on the most efficient point of sailing at any given time on the course.

Compatability

Seatrack software is compatible with Windows™ Operating Systems 2000, ME and XP.

The application is compatible with most instrumentation systems including those from major manufacturers Silva, Tacktick, B&G and Raymarine.

For electronic chart and hardware requirements go to Equipment.

Security

Live copies of Seatrack are protected either by a physical dongle or by a software protection system that locks it to the hard drive of the PC.
