AIS (Automatic Information System)
Provides a display derived from an AIS receiver that shows course, speed and identity of all vessels over 300 tons within at least 5 miles. The display symbols indicate the speed and course of vessels within range as well as the minute-to-minute collision threat level.
The AIS potential collision threat levels are displayed on the chart showing the identified vessels' course and speed over ground and position.

This symbol depicts a vessel posing a 'Danger' level threat moving at 7.5 - 12.5 knots in a NW direction with bearing only changing less than 4 degrees in 2 minutes.

This symbol depicts a vessel posing a 'Moderate' level threat moving at 10.0 - 15.0 knots in a NW direction with bearing only changing between 4 and 8 degrees in 2 minutes.

This symbol depicts a vessel posing a 'Minimal' level threat moving at 15.0 - 20.00 knots in a NW direction with bearing changing more than 8 in 2 minutes.
