Boat’s Instruments, Charts, GPS and AIS


Boat's Instruments

Instrument systems are essential for the operation of Seatrack Racer and Grand Prix but are not essential for Seatrack Cruiser.

Seatrack is compatible with the following instrument systems:
  • Nexus FDX
  • Nexus
  • Tacktick
  • B&G Hercules 690+
  • B&G Hydra
  • Raymarine
  • Ockam
  • Any system using NMEA 0183 communications protocol
Such systems must include:
  • Boat speed
  • Electronic compass
  • Wind speed and angle


Charts

Seatrack is compatible with C-Map, Navionic and some BSB (such as Maptech) charts.

GPS

Seatrack is compatible with any GPS system that transmits data using the NMEA 0183 communications protocol (nearly all GPS systems do so).

AIS Equipment

In order to use the AIS function it is necessary to have an AIS receiver and a second VHF antenna or a VHF splitter (which enables a single masthead antenna to be used for both the VHF radio and AIS receiver). On request, Seatrack Limited can advise on and source suitable models.
