The following are required to run Seatrack software

Hardware
  • PC
  • GPS Antenna
  • Electronic Charts
  • Boat Instruments
    • - Log Transducer
    • - Electronic Compass
    • - Wind Transducer

In addition, the following enhance functionality and versatility:

  • Remote Screen
    • Hard wired to PC for use at the chart table or on deck.
      OR
    • Linked via wireless network and suitable for use on deck.
  • Tablet PC
  • PC designed for use on board for 12 to 24 volt power supply.
  • PC peripherals such as waterproof keyboards.
  • AIS Receiver

Minimum PC Requirements

  • Processing speed of 400 MHz +
  • 256 Mb + of RAM (in general, processor speed is less important than RAM)
  • Screen resolution SVGA (800 x 600 pixels +)
  • For preference a 12 volt charger or, alternatively, an inverter
  • A serial port converter will be necessary for most PCs; the recommended model is Manhattan's Model 205146

Charts

Seatrack is compatible with C-Map, Navionic and BSB (such as Maptech) charts

GPS

Seatrack is compatible with any GPS system that transmits data using the NMEA 0183 communications protocol (nearly all GPS systems do so).

Boat's Instruments

Instrument systems are essential for the operation of Seatrack Racer and Grand Prix but are not essential for Seatrack Cruiser.

Seatrack is compatible with the following Instrument Systems:

  • Silva FDX
  • Silva Nexus
  • Tacktick
  • B&G Hercules 390+
  • B&G Hydra
  • Raymarine
  • Ockam
  • Any system using NMEA 0183 communications protocol

Such systems must include:

  • Boat speed
  • Electronic compass
  • Wind speed and angle

Boat PCs

A PC fitted with an industrial standard hard disc and designed to run on a 12 to 24 volt DC power supply. It can be specified according to your needs in terms of software and peripherals. Costs start at £675.00 ex VAT and delivery. A range of 12 Volt colour screens are also available.

Tablet PCs

A tablet PC can be used instead of a conventional laptop or built in PC. This enables Seatrack to be totally accessible on deck. On request Seatrack Ltd can advise and source on suitable models, costs start at approximately £2500 ex VAT

 

Remote Screens

Seatrack Limited can provide a range of screens for use either at the chart table, pilot house or on deck. These can be wired directly to the PC or be linked via a wireless network. Depending on specification prices range from £1075.00 to £2550.00.

A wireless touch screen acts as a repeater for the PC located down below, enabling Seatrack to be operated on deck - Price £1500 ex VAT and ex Delivery.

AIS System and VHF Splitter

In order to use the AIS feature, which is built into all three Seatrack options, it is necessary to have an AIS receiver. On request Seatrack Ltd can advise and source on suitable models, costs start at approximately £130 ex VAT for the AIS receiver and £100 for the VHF splitter allowing you to use your mast head VHF antenna for both the VHF radio and AIS receiver.
