Recent Releases - New Version 12

New Version 12 was released on 6th January.  Besides a number of lesser enhancements, it  has simplified system configuration, provided additional information on the Start Line screen and improved layline calculations.  Most importantly, bearing in mind the critical advantage of maximum precision and consistency in the calibration of a yacht's  instruments, Seatrack's new, and unique, method of wind instrument calibration results in more precise data while being very much less time-consuming.

On the Start Line screen, the calculated times to the first mark from each end of the line and from the yacht's current position are displayed, clearly indicating the optimum point on the line.  Also, the layline times from the relevant end of the line are now shown.

Until Version 12, the basis of calculation for laylines was limited to two options - by reference to true wind angle or target angle for the next tack.  Two further options have now been introduced - using the mean course over ground or the true wind angle from the previous tack.  The default option remains unchanged.

As noted above, the most important improvement in this latest version is the introduction of effortless and even more accurate wind instrument calibration.  It is no longer necessary to undertake extensive, laborious calibration runs - in Version 12, wind instrument calibration is updated from the yacht's Seatrack log files at the touch of a button.
