Banshee, a Corby 33 equipped with Seatrack Grand Prix, racing in Cowes Week
New Release - Version 13
Version 13 was released on 21st January. As noted at the Home page, its main features are improved and simplified chart manipulation, the introduction of heel angle polars, improved calibration and polar updates from existing log files.
The improved and simplified chart manipulation has been introduced to provide a less cluttered charts tool bar and an easier user interface.
The effect of a yacht's heel angle on boat speed is critical at all points of sailing and in all but the lightest of wind strengths. The actual heel angle or the delta between actual and theoretical data is shown either on Seatrack displays or via Talk Back on instrument displays. The data can also be analysed by superimposing one graph over another.
While Seatrack introduced automatic instrument calibration from log files in 2012, in Version 13 the yachts polars and calibration data accuracy has been further improved by eliminating any information affected by tacking or gybing.
